Rift Studio
Product

A DAW built around how you actually work.

Rift Studio is a session-aware production workstation. It understands your project structure, anticipates what you need, and removes repetitive production tasks — so every minute is creative.

Session Intelligence

Your session, understood.

Rift Studio reads your project in real time. It auto-labels tracks, suggests routing, detects frequency collisions, and builds the session structure for you — so you never start from a blank template again.

Architecture

Four engines. One vision.

Rift Studio's core is built around four specialized engines, each purpose-built for performance, quality, and modularity.

Audio Engine

64-bit float processing, automatic latency compensation, and sample-accurate timing throughout the entire signal chain.

Spatial Engine

Full Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 rendering pipeline. Object-based and channel-based panning with binaural monitoring.

Analysis Engine

Real-time spectral analysis, loudness monitoring, and mix diagnostics that power the Production Copilot.

Device Engine

Node-based signal processing. Every instrument and effect is a modular device you can build, share, and patch.

Workflow

What a session actually looks like.

Four steps. No templates. No busywork. Just open, create, and let the session build itself around your ideas.

Ask the Copilot to check the mix

One command. The Copilot scans levels, EQ, stereo image, and spatial balance — then hands you a checklist, not an automated master.

Speed

Built for keyboard-first production.

Every common action is one or two keystrokes away. Zero menus for the things you do hundreds of times per session.

Command Palette

Type any command, search any parameter, navigate anywhere. No memorizing menus.

Quick-Add Tracks

One key to add a track. Session Intelligence auto-configures it based on context.

Smart Duplicate

Duplicate clips, tracks, or entire sections with routing and automation intact.

Inline Processing

EQ, dynamics, and effects right in the track header. No separate mixer window needed.

Multi-Edit

Select multiple tracks, edit parameters simultaneously. Relative or absolute adjustments.

Undo History

Branching undo tree with up to 200 nodes, plus 50 named project snapshots you can A/B compare.

Drag-to-Route

Drag a cable from any track output to any input. Visual routing, zero configuration.

Session Snapshots

Save and recall entire session states — A/B mix versions instantly.

Arrangement

Multitrack editing that feels intuitive.

Up to 128 tracks, clip-based workflow, take lanes, crossfades, and a timeline that adapts to your arrangement — not the other way around.

  • Take LanesRecord stacked takes, comp the best

Instruments

Sound design, production-ready.

Eight instruments ship with every edition — from subtractive synthesis to granular sampling. No sample library downloads required.

Wavetable Synth

16-voice polyphonic with 8 waveform shapes, sub oscillator, white noise generator, resonant multi-mode filter, dual LFOs, and up to 8-voice unison with detune and stereo spread.

Analog Synth

3-oscillator subtractive synth with hard sync, ring modulation, FM between oscillators, dual multi-mode filters, 3 LFOs, analog drift simulation, and portamento.

FM Synthesizer

6-operator FM synthesis with 32 algorithm selections, 8 waveforms per operator, per-operator ADSR envelopes, and feedback routing for complex timbres.

Granular Synth

Grain-based synthesis with up to 2048 simultaneous grains across 8 voices, 4 window shapes, freeze and reverse modes, and real-time position, density, and pitch scatter control.

Drum Machine

16-pad sample-based drum instrument with per-pad pitch, decay, cutoff, and resonance. Choke groups, output buses, and independent processing per voice.

Physical Model

5 acoustic models — plucked, bowed, blown, struck, percussion — with body resonance, sympathetic strings, inharmonicity, and fractional-delay tuning.

Sample Slicer

Transient-aware slicing with up to 128 slices, per-slice volume, pan, pitch, and reverse. 4 play modes and automatic MIDI mapping from C1.

Advanced Sampler

Multi-zone sample playback with 128 zones, velocity layers, round-robin groups, 4 filter types, and loop modes including forward, ping-pong, and reverse.

Effects

Processing that shapes and inspires.

Every effect is a modular device — patch them in series, parallel, or build entirely custom signal chains in the Device Grid.

Parametric EQ 8

8-band parametric equalizer with real-time FFT spectrum analyzer. HPF, LPF, Bell, and Shelf band types with hand-coded biquad coefficients.

Console Emulation

Four analog console models — SSL 4000E, SSL SuperAnalogue, Neve 1073, and Riftborn hybrid — with channel filters and transformer saturation.

Convolution Reverb

Impulse response-based reverb with pre-delay, high and low filtering, stereo width control, and real-time IR processing.

Compressor

Feed-forward compressor with SSL 4000 G-Series topology, THAT 2181 VCA saturation modeling, sidechain pre-emphasis, and dual-stage release.

Amp Simulator

5 amp models — Clean, Crunch, Overdrive, Lead, High Gain — with 3-band tone stack, cabinet simulation, and integrated noise gate.

Audio Repair Suite

Built-in declip, dehum, declick, and denoise with noise profile learning, spectral subtraction, and mains frequency detection.

Spectral Morph

Real-time spectral cross-synthesis with FFT morphing, freeze capture, and 4 morph modes — CrossFade, Spectral, Formant, and Hybrid.

Stem Separator

Offline source separation with optional neural models — isolate vocals, drums, bass, and other when stem models are installed, with spectral fallback when they are not.

Modular Grid

Patch anything to anything.

The Device Grid is a node-based patching environment where every instrument and effect is a module. Route audio and MIDI visually, build custom processors, and save stable chains as reusable devices.

  • Node-Based RoutingVisual signal flow
  • Custom DevicesSave chains as reusable modules
  • MIDI + AudioRoute both in the same graph

Readiness

Extensible by design. Grounded in what ships first.

Rift Studio is being built as a long-term platform, but the near-term focus is tighter presets, better documentation, and reusable tools that make the first Windows release dependable.

Device Builder

A visual environment for creating custom instruments and effects. Combine built-in modules, draw custom UIs, and package reusable devices for your own sessions.

Included in all editions

Presets & Templates

Factory content depth is a current shipping priority: better starting points, deeper preset libraries, and stronger first-run workflows.

Current focus

Documentation & Onboarding

Reference docs, tutorials, and guided setup are being expanded so the workstation is easier to trust on day one.
